Le Coq Sportif, a sports brand and official sponsor of the Tour de France, the world's most prestigious cycling race, has released a collaboration collection with CHARI & CO, a New York-based bike brand that strongly promotes cycling culture, starting in early September.
Le Coq Sportif is a French brand with cycling as one of its roots. This collaboration with CHARI & CO, which also has cycling at its core, combines the functionality, design, and worldview of each brand to develop a total of eight items ranging from performance wear to off-road wear. The collection was also highly praised and won the Grand Prize at the Descente Design Awards, organized by Descente. The lineup includes team jerseys (¥18,000), team bib pants (¥22,000), team caps (¥4,800), team half-zip jackets (¥21,000), team long/sleeve shirts (¥10,000), team sweatshirts (¥15,000), team coach jackets (¥26,000), and team long pants (¥17,000). Pre-orders are currently being accepted on Chari&Co.'s official website and ZOZOTOWN. Additionally, starting in mid-September, pop-up stores will be open at five Wise Road locations, a cycling specialty store. Chari&Co. opened as a small bicycle shop on Downtown's Lower East Side in 2008. It has since grown from a local brand to one recognized internationally. While gaining a following among New Yorkers as a shop selling apparel, accessories, and bike parts, the brand has also collaborated with brands such as Steven Alan and PORTER.
