Jul 17, 2013

When you're invited to a home party, you often have to worry about what to bring as a gift. To help you out, we've taken a look at the food prepared for guests at exhibitions and parties by fashion brands and press attachés. The sweets and drinks selected by the trend-conscious and discerning press are sure to be praised for their excellent taste.

The first in this series is "Pretzels" from "Kate Spade Saturday."

At the opening party for the "Kate Spade Saturday Harajuku Store" (4-26-12 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), which opened in Harajuku last year, guests were treated to pretzels from "Sigmund Pretzel," which is sold in the café space on the second floor of the store.

Sigmund Pretzel is a pretzel specialty store with a flagship store in New York's East Village. The shop directly imports these pretzels, which are immensely popular among New Yorkers, allowing customers to enjoy the authentic taste of the original.

Made with a focus on natural ingredients, the chewy texture will have you hooked after just one bite. The "Sigmund Pretzel way" is to eat them with a dip, and there are seven different dips available, from sweet flavors like honey butter to herb goat cheese, which pairs well with alcohol, making them enjoyable as both a snack or a meal.

If you warm up takeout pretzels in the oven for about a minute, the fragrant, rich flavor will spread, doubling the deliciousness.

"When you think of pretzels, many people think of hard snacks, but these have a distinctive chewy texture. Guests have been asking, 'Is this really a pretzel?' and 'It's sure to be a hit!' "It was a huge hit, with many people saying, "This is so cute!"" said Mayu Akiyama, press representative for Kate Spade Saturday.
