COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS presented its Spring/Summer 2014 collection in Paris. The designer was Rei Kawakubo.
Lined tailcoats and frock coats were featured. Jackets now feature new chiffon hems that flutter with every step. Layered pieces were shown, with the back and sleeves seemingly peeling apart, like a larva hatching from a chrysalis. New sleeves were visible on shirts. The layering was emphasized, with looks that appeared to be made up of three layers of clothing. The hems of jackets fluttered in multiple layers from the back. A leather top was also worn over the jacket, reminiscent of the shell of an adult insect. This top was fastened with a single back strap, and the hem fluttered at the back.
The pants collection includes pleated shorts reminiscent of culottes, shirred trousers, and items with raw-edge fabric sewn in a graphically designed pattern.
The color palette is mainly monotone black, gray, and white, with checks and psychedelic patterns thrown in.
