On February 5th, COMME des GARÇONS HOMME presented its 2013-14 Fall/Winter collection in a floor show at its showroom in Aoyama, Tokyo. The brand showcases carefully crafted staples each season, based on designer Junya Watanabe's concept of "carefully crafted classics." While the brand has collaborated with various brands, including INDIVIDUALIZED SHIRTS and VALSTAR, this season it partnered with new partners, including shirt brands CLEEVE OF LONDON and GUY ROVER, and outdoor boots manufacturer DANNER. The first half of the runway featured outerwear, including duffle coats, hunting jackets, and mountain parkas. Made from cotton-polyester blends and bonded materials, the collection featured items in orange, yellow, and green. Check and houndstooth patterns peek out from the plackets and inside the hoods. Pair it with knitwear and shirts in argyle, stripes, and checks underneath.
After the coats, a classic tweed jacket appears. Available in corduroy and camouflage patterns, the collection ends with a playful style of layering, with a Valster camouflage coat topped with a down vest or the quilted liner of a military jacket.
Finally, a previously proposed item in black appears, creating a chic atmosphere. The collection concludes with a double-breasted suit and a trench coat.
