From June 1 to August 31, 2021, The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka (Address: 2-5-25 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka) will be hosting "Summer Dolce Limone," an afternoon buffet inspired by the dazzling sunshine of southern Italy's summer, at the Italian restaurant "Splendido" on the first floor.

"Summer Dolce Limone" is inspired by the cheerful summers of southern Italy, with blue skies and the glittering sunshine of the Mediterranean Sea. This year, the buffet will be presented in the familiar afternoon buffet style of The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka, where guests can enjoy both the three-tiered afternoon tea stand and the sweets and savory dishes from the buffet table.

First, a refreshing lemonade will be served as a welcome drink. Sweets include a selection of fresh lemon-based dishes, such as the chilled Sicilian dessert cassata, cannoli filled with lemon cream, and sweet and sour lemon cream puffs. Traditional Italian sweets will also be available, including tiramisu, amaretti biscuits, almond milk panna cotta, and torta caprese. Chef Aldo Chiroiro, originally from Puglia in southern Italy, will prepare savory dishes, including a fish burger sandwiched between caponata, a famous Sicilian dish, cream cheese and pistachio tarteretta, and green gazpacho with basil sauce, all perfectly balanced with summery Italian fare.


Also making its debut as a table-serve dessert, a much-talked-about treat, this time will be a lemon meringue pie, prepared one by one right in front of each guest. Beautifully topped with Italian meringue, the lemon pie is cut into individual pieces for each guest, lightly toasted over a flame, and topped with grated rind of your choice of lemon, orange, or lime, creating a delightful citrus aroma.
