Vivienne Westwood collaborates with English National Ballet

Jan 29, 2013

Vivienne Westwood has collaborated with English National Ballet (ENB) for its 2013 campaign. This marks ENB Artistic Director Tamara Rojo's first collaboration with an artistic field outside of ballet.

Art direction was overseen by creative agency The Beautiful Meme (TBM), and photography was done by fashion photographer Guy Farrow in collaboration with the Vivienne Westwood team. Costumes used were selected from Vivienne's archive collection and the Spring/Summer 2013 season. Dancers pose in decadent locations wearing sculpted garments inspired by Vivienne's historic dresses and couture. Posing was done by ENB's George Williamson.

TBM Creative Director Tom Sharp commented on the campaign, "English National Ballet's philosophy is to respect tradition while adding new ones. We designed it to reflect that. Tamara combines choreography, fashion and photography that epitomizes her spirit, creating an unprecedented collaboration."

Tamara Rojo became ENB's Artistic Director in September last year. She was previously a principal dancer with the Royal Ballet.
