H&M is actively expanding its store network in Japan. According to the company, domestic sales increased 62% last fiscal year compared to the previous year. This year, further growth is expected. In April, the company announced its expansion into Hiroshima this fall. It will also open three stores in Niigata, Tochigi, and Chiba this fall, and will also introduce new lines. The H&M Niigata store, its first in the prefecture, will be located within the new LoveLa2 commercial facility, scheduled to open in early November, and will occupy two floors with a sales floor area of approximately 2,000 square meters. The H&M Utsunomiya Interpark store, also its first in Tochigi Prefecture, will occupy one floor with a sales floor area of approximately 2,300 square meters. The H&M Unimo Chiharadai store, its second in Chiba Prefecture, will occupy one floor with a sales floor area of approximately 1,900 square meters. All three stores will offer a full lineup of women's, men's, children's, and accessories. H&M currently operates 29 stores, including three opened in the Kansai region this spring. It has opened 152 stores worldwide in the past six months, with plans to open approximately 350 stores this year. Also, in September, the brand will release its high-price line, "Autumn Collection 2013," which was unveiled at Paris Fashion Week in March, and its men's wear collection, "Mauritz Archive." The former, featuring H&M's most luxurious items, will be launched worldwide on the 5th and available in select stores in Japan. The latter, inspired by H&M's roots in men's outdoor clothing store Mauritz Widforss, will feature 21 styles focused on materials and functionality. It will be released worldwide on the 19th. In Japan, it will be available at the Shibuya, Shinjuku, Shinsaibashi, and Umeda stores. The collaboration collection with Isabel Marant, "ISABEL MARANT POUR H&M," is scheduled to be released on November 14th. Domestic stores selling the collection have yet to be decided.
