adidas Originals is collaborating once again with OPENING CEREMONY, the brand created by Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, creative directors of KENZO. The themes are "running" and "tennis," inspired by the prints and vibrant colors of the 1990s. The "running" collection, scheduled for release in February, features a cheetah print with a distorted effect. The "tennis" collection, scheduled for release in March, includes a women's baby T-shirt, a nylon pleated mini skirt, and a men's neon-striped set. The women's collection features figure-flattering yet playful designs, including high-waisted leopard print shorts and a preppy tennis dress. The men's designs continue the trends of the 90s with striped shirts and patchwork knitwear, while still retaining a sporty and cool impression.
The shoes revive the Dellinger Web shock dispersion system, which first appeared in the 80s and became a hot topic as cutting-edge footwear technology. They are given a contemporary finish with features such as a cheetah print neoprene lining. Tennis and running elements are also mixed into the basketball sneakers. The popular women's wedge sneakers are an adaptation of the Rod Laver tennis sneakers.
