Y-3, the brand under creative director Yohji Yamamoto, will release a capsule collection called "NICE TO MEET YOU" in collaboration with Japanese denim brand WAREHOUSE for the Spring/Summer 2013 season. Three indigo blue men's pants are available. The "M DENIM BASIC PANT" (¥36,225) features a five-pocket, straight silhouette. It's made from Warehouse's original selvedge denim, crafted from rare, precious US cotton. To celebrate Y-3's 10th anniversary, the "M DENIM STATEMENT PANT" (¥55,650) features a "feather" pattern printed on the lining, designed by Fumihiko Hayashi, a dyer who is a purveyor to the Japanese Imperial Household. Furthermore, denim banners from the 1930s were disassembled, the wrap threads and weft threads were removed, and the fabric was reprocessed to create a unique fabric. The "M DENIM DROP PANT" (44,625 yen) is made from Warehouse's original cotton selvedge denim. The jeans have the voluminous sarouel silhouette that is unique to Y-3, and have the distinctive texture of mid-ounce denim.
Warehouse was founded in 1995 by the Shiotani brothers. Having traveled the world in pursuit of vintage denim processing techniques, they have created authentic denim workwear with an attention to detail that is highly acclaimed around the world.
It will be available at Y-3 flagship stores and select stores worldwide from February 2013.
