The Yard, whose theme is "Kimono worn like a white shirt: Creating a new everyday life," will open its first store on November 19th at Shibuya Modi in Shibuya, Tokyo. The store is located at 1-21-3 Jinnan, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, 4th floor, Modi Shibuya. The Yard is a new brand born from Yamato, a long-established kimono specialty store founded in 1917 and celebrating its 100th anniversary in two years. Yamato operates 124 stores nationwide, primarily under the name Kimono Yamato, and in March of this year, it opened its first men's kimono specialty store, Y. & SONS, which garnered much attention. The Yard aims to create a new "kimono culture" that blends into modern culture and lifestyles, while preserving the tradition and appeal of kimono and bringing a new wind to the world of kimono. The store will carry everything you need for traditional Japanese clothing, from gender-neutral kimonos to complete kimono sets such as obi, footwear, and obidome, as well as bags, hair accessories, stoles, and umbrellas. Additionally, styling and buying direction will be handled by popular stylist Ii Yuriko, who works on advertisements, commercials, and magazines such as & Premium and GINZA. Made-in-Japan accessories from brands such as mina perhonen, Hender Scheme, and SIRI SIRI have been selected.
In addition, to commemorate the opening, the store is offering a service in which customers who make a purchase will receive an original novelty gift.
