In conjunction with the "2015 Kimono Salone in Nihonbashi," an event dedicated to promoting the new appeal of kimono to the next generation, the Palace Hotel Tokyo will be offering a collaborative menu with leading Japanese kimono designer Jotaro Saito from October 1st to 20th.
The menu was created in accordance with the "DARK FAIRYTALE" theme of Jotaro Saito's 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection, the theme of his brand, "JOTARO SAITO."
The "Fashion Afternoon Tea ~JOTARO SAITO kimono style collection~," which also debuted last year, includes chocolates shaped like apples, a classic fairytale motif; floral sables featuring the collection's theme, peonies; and black python-patterned eclairs. Served with three types of macarons featuring the brand logo, the set is priced at 3,900 yen (tax included), or 5,600 yen (tax included) with a glass of champagne.
This year, a new item will be introduced: "Fashion Cocktail - JOTARO SAITO kimono style collection." The cocktail (2,200 yen including tax, service charge not included) is named "DARK FAIRYTALE," just like the collection's theme, and is based on Darjeeling liqueur, combining three types of deep-hued fresh berries that make use of the collection's theme color, as well as Japanese ingredients such as ginger beer and shiso leaves. Garnished with vanilla beans, it is a fragrant dish that allows you to enjoy the contrast of sweetness and spiciness.
During the same period, if you visit the lobby lounge "The Palace Lounge" on the first floor wearing a kimono and order afternoon tea, you will receive a specially made dessert as a gift.
