SABON, an Israeli body care brand, is launching the "SABON Gift Short Film Project," a collaboration with ShortShorts, a comprehensive short film brand that organizes the international short film festival Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSF&A). Gifts are given to loved ones on various occasions, such as anniversaries, celebrations, and everyday expressions of gratitude. The project, themed "SABON Gift Stories," invites the public to share stories about giving or receiving SABON items as gifts to loved ones—family, friends, or significant others. Selected stories will be turned into short films by ShortShorts. A press conference for the project was held at a Tokyo location on the 20th. SABON JAPNA CEO Kazuhiro Kuroishi and actor Tetsuya Bessho, head of SSF&A, spoke on stage. Bessho spoke about his vision for the project, saying, "I want to turn the stories (scenes) that arise when sending gifts into short films, vacuum-pack them along with the fragrance, and share them with the world." Later, model SHIHO, a Sabon enthusiast, appeared as a guest. "I'm really looking forward to being able to capture the emotion of gift-giving on film," she said. She also chose her ideal situation as a man kneeling to hand over a gift, which Bessho recreated exactly. Blushing, SHIHO couldn't help but exclaim, "I could fall in love with him," adding to the excitement. Applications are being accepted until December 31st on a special website. Submissions are accepted in Japanese only. Participants can submit their story (approximately 200 to 300 characters) via the submission page. The results will be announced on the SABON website in mid-February 2016.
