Emilio Pucci released its first skateboard collection on October 12th. To coincide with the collection's launch, the brand released a short film in collaboration with the online digital movie channel NOWNESS.
The skateboard collection was created through a collaborative project with students from the University of Art and Design, Lausanne (ECAL) in Switzerland. The students studied the brand's archive prints to reinterpret the Emilio Pucci aesthetic. The prints, titled "Dolce Vita," feature motifs iconic to Italy, such as pasta and ice cream.
The collection consists of two models: the "Street Shape," designed for street and skatepark use and capable of complex skateboarding tricks like ollies, airs, flips, slides, grinds, and manuals; and the "Crusier Shape," designed for asphalt, stone, and concrete.
The short film "Rolling with Emilio Pucci," released in conjunction with the collection, was produced by Edward Housden. It depicts model Martha-Rose Redding, wearing a silk dress from the capsule collection "THE PILOT EPISODE," released in June, skating and confronting twin boys.
