The view spread out above the matcha bowl is a playful parfait designed to resemble a Zen garden. The cake is dotted with matcha-flavored sponge cakes and cookies resembling moss, and the cobblestones are made with bubu arare (snow-flour crackers). Also noteworthy are the delicious "stones," made from roasted green tea cookies wrapped in sesame kneaded rice cakes. The cocoa langue de chat cookies, reminiscent of tree branches, are crispy and gently sweet. Crushing the white chocolate hidden beneath the dry landscape-themed panna cotta reveals a fragrant matcha tiramisu made with organic matcha from Uji, grown without pesticides and using natural farming methods. Made to order, the nine-layer tiramisu is layered with rich matcha cream, a light matcha sponge cake, and a refreshingly cool yuzu ice cream, topped with Mizuo yuzu jam for an accent. Enjoy the rich flavor by roughly scooping it and eating it with the "stones" and "moss." The tea will be served on Aman Kyoto's original "Black Jaku Yugen" matcha bowls, created by Kyoto ceramicist George Nakamura for the "Niwa Parfait Zen Garden." Nakamura creates his pottery with the space in which it will be used in mind. The word "yugen" (mysterious and mysterious) came to mind as he strolled through Aman Kyoto's forest garden. It evokes the atmosphere, charm, and flow of time he felt in the garden. The matcha bowls were created with this in mind, capturing the strength and depth of the black color. The matcha bowls can be purchased for an additional 15,000 yen (tax included). George Nakamura was born in Osaka Prefecture and currently resides in Kyoto. He graduated from Kyoto Seika University's Faculty of Art, Department of Art and Design, majoring in Ceramics. He studied under Kozo Kawashima and Yoshinobu Kawashima. He founded G-studio in 2012.
