Issey Miyake releases AW15 video. The skirts that spread out as you spin are like a kaleidoscope

Jul 7, 2015

ISSEY MIYAKE has released a promotional video for its AW15 collection. The theme of the collection, "Colorscope," was inspired by natural structures like snowflakes and spiraling seashells. This time, the collection once again features an even more advanced version of last season's "3D Steam Stretch" fabric. Using the three primary colors, countless color variations are expressed with a minimal number of colors. The promotional video was created by cutting-edge London-based photographer Jacob Sutton, who handled everything from conception to photography and editing. Wanting to highlight the beautiful textiles and silhouettes featured in the collection, Jacob Sutton featured the spiral skirt featured in the show's finale. A model turns in front of a mirrored wall, and the hexagonally folded skirt unfolds like a sash, creating a spiral effect reminiscent of the view through a spinning kaleidoscope. The video is also available on the brand's official website.
