LEMAIRE, a fashion brand led by top Parisian designers Christophe Lemaire and Sarah-Linh Tran, who have also worked with brands such as Hermès, has announced a collaboration collection with UNIQLO, "UNIQLO AND LEMAIRE." An exhibition was held in France on July 7th, and key visuals were also released.
The collection was created with the aim of "using carefully selected materials to create elegant everyday wear that is not influenced by trends." The collection features accessible designs and soft, attractive materials, and offers a variety of items that can be worn by people of all ages.
There are 30 styles for women and 25 styles for men. The lineup includes shirts (2,990 to 3,990 yen), knitwear (2,990 to 14,900 yen), outerwear (12,900 to 17,900 yen), pants (2,990 to 6,990 yen), skirts (3,990 to 7,990 yen), dresses (5,990 to 7,990 yen), jackets (6,990 to 14,900 yen), cut and sewn tops (2,490 to 3,490 yen), etc. The collection is scheduled to be released in early October, and all prices are tentative. Regarding Uniqlo, Lemaire's designer Christophe Lemaire commented, "Uniqlo literally defines the LifeWear concept of 'Made For All,' meaning to brighten the lives of all people. It is everyday, popular, and modern, and places the product itself at the core of the brand. Uniqlo is not just about 'Fashion,' it is about 'Life,' and I am impressed that they are inspired by people's lives." Regarding the collection, he said, "Through this collaboration, we will deliver to everyone Uniqlo's high-quality materials and commitment to uncompromising clothing at an ideal price point. This collaboration harmonizes ideal volume and silhouette, strength, serenity, and softness, creating a collection that will enhance the wearer's charm." When asked about the differences between working for a luxury brand and UNIQLO, and the most difficult challenge of working with UNIQLO, he revealed, "LEMAIRE is not a luxury brand. We strive to create high-quality, long-lasting clothing, which is also what UNIQLO does. UNIQLO inspires our integrity as designers because, through collaboration, our clothes can be worn by people all over the world. This requires careful consideration of balance and form. We create clothes that suit a variety of everyday occasions for all people, with an uncompromising attitude. It's a very rewarding challenge." Regarding the differentiation between LEMAIRE and UNIQLO AND LEMAIRE and how he works on the two collections, he stated, "In creating two collections, we have to organize ourselves and focus. I think this is both luxurious and constructive."
