Carine Roitfeld and Uniqlo to release collaborative collection for Fall/Winter 2015

Apr 17, 2015

Uniqlo will release a collaboration collection with fashion editor Carine Roitfeld for the Fall/Winter 2015-16 season.

Carine began her career as a model before moving into editing. She served as editor-in-chief of French Vogue from 2001 to 2011. She later founded CR Fashion Book and served as global fashion director for Harper's Bazaar. During her time in the industry, she has worked on campaigns for a variety of brands, including Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, and Chanel. Her work was even made into a film in 2013.

The collection bearing her name will offer items incorporating the latest trends not found in Uniqlo's lineup at reasonable prices. The lineup will include approximately 40 items, ranging from stylish outerwear to feminine innerwear. Regarding this collaboration, Carine commented, "I find joy in creating new expressions of fashion. I'm always asking myself what that means, so creating new clothing within UNIQLO's LifeWear concept is a huge challenge. I want to create clothes inspired by the kind of clothes I want to wear myself, that everyone will want to wear, and that women will notice a change in themselves when they put them on." Uniqlo's Naoki Takizawa, who is in charge of design, also commented, "As an editor, Carine visits collections around the world, constantly pursuing the cutting edge of fashion, and her creative expression has a major impact on the fashion world. The clothes she creates in her fresh and innovative visuals, working with some of the most influential creators in the fashion world, somehow seem to bring a sense of pride. I am confident that through our work together, a new 'LifeWear' will be born." The collection will be available at UNIQLO flagship stores and online stores worldwide from late October.
