Osaka's first "LaLaport" to open in October. Family-oriented

Jun 1, 2014

Osaka Prefecture's first LaLaport, tentatively named LaLaport Izumi (4-4-7 Ayumino, Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture), will open in October.

The facility is close to Senboku Route 1, National Route 26, and the Kishiwada-Izumi Interchange on the Hanwa Expressway, providing good road access from a wide area. The five-story building will have a total floor area of approximately 165,000 square meters and store area of approximately 55,000 square meters.

Based on the store concept of an "area oasis," the goal is to create a shopping center where customers can not only purchase daily necessities but also meet weekend leisure needs, discovering cutting-edge trends and fun in one stop. Approximately 220 stores will be housed, including fashion, miscellaneous goods, restaurants, and entertainment facilities, to cater to a wide range of generations. With particular attention paid to families in their 30s and 40s who reside in large numbers in the surrounding new towns, the food court, which seats approximately 700 people, will also feature seating suitable for strollers, raised seating, a kids' play area, and ample parking.

In terms of the environment, the facility will feature EV charging stations, solar power generation equipment, and the active use of LED lighting in common areas, while disaster prevention measures include the installation of emergency power generation equipment, a disaster supply warehouse, and a well that can be pumped in the event of a disaster. An Izumi City information corner and a police drop-in area will be set up within the facility, and the Costco Wholesale Izumi Warehouse, a members-only warehouse-style store, will open on the adjacent site on June 1st. Cooperation will be promoted to allow customers to enjoy attractive shopping in one stop.
