Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) has begun development of three regional shopping centers and a large-scale entertainment complex.
Specifically, the three regional shopping centers are "LaLaport Fujimi" (Yamamuro, Fujimi City, Saitama Prefecture, opening in 2015), "Tachikawa Tachihi Commercial Facility Project" (Izumicho, Tachikawa City, Tokyo, opening in 2015), and "LaLaport Izumi" (Ayumino, Izumi City, Osaka Prefecture, opening in 2014). The large-scale entertainment complex is scheduled to open in 2015 on the former site of Expoland, the site of the Senri Expo '70 in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture.
Since the opening of "Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport TOKYO-BAY" (Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture) in 1981, Mitsui Fudosan has been developing and operating commercial facilities that respond to changes in the times and consumer needs. As of October 1, 2012, the company has developed and operated a total of 102 commercial facilities in Japan, with a total rental area of approximately 2.6 million square meters and 5,000 tenant stores. This time, the company will utilize its know-how to create a facility that will create and propose new lifestyles for the next era, based on four pillars: embodying the "smart city" concept that takes safety and the environment into consideration, catering to "active seniors" who will be the main customer group of the next generation, "community symbiosis" that will grow together with the community and be loved by customers in the community, and "aging better" that will maintain freshness and continue to meet needs even as time passes.
