Designer Mitsuoka Shinsuke's "liberum arbitrium" will open its first pop-up store at "GARAGE D.EDIT," a select sales area at Hankyu Men's Tokyo. The store will run from September 11th to 17th. The theme of the store is "URBAN STRATEGY," and the full lineup of this fall/winter's new collection, inspired by the worldview of musician and contemporary artist Ikeda Ryoji, will be on display. A limited-edition pea coat (115,500 yen) featuring embroidered Morse code, which stands for "NO MEANING AND NO MESSAGE," was unveiled at a show held at Tokyo Fashion Week. Additionally, the first 30 customers to shop at the store will receive a free tote bag exclusively available at Hankyu Men's Tokyo, also embroidered with Morse code. During this period, on September 16th (from 2pm to 6pm), Mitsuoka will be at the store to give customers advice on coordinating their outfits.
Liberum Arbitrium is a men's brand that launched in the 2012 Spring/Summer season. Designer Mitsuoka transferred to his final year at Nottingham Trent University and graduated with honors from the school's Fashion Design department in 2010. He was a member of the Paris brand Gustavo Lins and also designed costumes for Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas. After presenting his first collection at London Fashion Week, the brand has been based in Japan since 2012-13 Autumn/Winter, and plans to continue to actively develop pop-up stores and other outlets.
