On September 6th, Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development's commercial facility "CUTE CUBE HARAJUKU" (1-7-1 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) will open on Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Tokyo. A preview for the press was held on the 4th.

CUTE CUBE HARAJUKU is a commercial facility with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, housing a total of 10 stores selling apparel, accessories, miscellaneous goods, sweets, gourmet food, and more. Tenants include fashion brand MONKI, opening its first store in the Kanto region, as well as ATMICBOXX and SPINNS Harajuku Takeshita Street Store, general goods stores OSEWAYA and Sanrio Vivitix HARAJUKU, food stores Baskin-Robbins, CANDY A GO GO, DESSERT Collection, and Creative Omelette Rice Pom no Ki, and ASOBISTATION, a limited-time shop open until October 14th.

The first and third floors of the building are decorated with objects designed by art director Masuda Sebastian, who works with the keyword "Harajuku Kawaii Culture." Movies are played on the vision on the facade, and are also sold as advertising. Additionally, snap events featuring blue-letter fashion magazines Zipper, KERA, and mer, as well as model handshake events, are planned for September 14th, 21st, and 28th, respectively.

Takeoka Satoru, business promotion team leader of the company's development division, which handled the development, commented, "The objects are a great fit for Harajuku Street, and the entire building has the image we were aiming for. Cute Cube Harajuku is somewhere between a shopping mall and a street-level store. At the moment, we don't have any permanent events planned beyond the opening event, but we hope to be able to keep the area bustling. Our next development facility is planned for the area around the Red Brick Warehouse in Minato Mirai."
