Shimokitazawa's "Otonomad" to launch "nomad" fashion and a pop-up store at Isetan Shinjuku

Sep 12, 2013

"Remember 70's," a pop-up shop offering independently curated lifestyle ideas inspired by "nomads," opened on the 11th in the West Park area next to the escalator on the fourth floor of Isetan Shinjuku. It will run until the 24th.

The shop brings 1970s fashion culture, including a return to nature and hippie trends, to the modern era. Items like lustrous wool cardigans, smock dresses, printed tunics, and long knit shirts blending flannel and knitwear are available in the store's "Life & Style" section alongside brands like A-net's "Plantation," Hakka's "Keihayama Plus," Tokyo Style's "cocofuku," and "Nui," as well as the store's own original brand.

In collaboration with Shimokitazawa record shop "Oto Nomad," the center of the store features rare CDs, vinyl records, and books, including 1970s acoustic folk music. The space complements the vintage furniture and miscellaneous goods from "Antique Warriors." The store's second-floor "DECADE," newly opened as part of the spring remodel, has been selling CDs and vintage books in collaboration with Daikanyama Tsutaya, but the fourth floor, which targets an older demographic, is now also stocking cultural items such as music and books, with the buyer's strong preferences reflected in every detail of the selection.

In addition, cushion covers and mobile phone cases by vintage clothing remake artist Fushimi Asaka are on sale, and a workshop by the artist himself will be held on September 21st.
