Tiffany & Co. has announced the appointment of new designer Francesca Amfitheatrof. She will be responsible for the design of all Tiffany products.
After graduating from the Royal College of Art, Central Saint Martins, and Chelsea Art School, Francesca worked as a jewelry designer and silversmith. Her jewelry designs are sold at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Colette in Paris, and she has also designed jewelry for Chanel, Fendi, and Marni. She is also the co-founder of RS&A, a London-based agency for contemporary artists.
Tiffany recently reopened its Kashiwa Takashimaya store on the 6th. This is the first renovation since the store opened in 2001, and the new store features a facade in "Tiffany Blue" with a white marble base, a main entrance with a "wheat pattern" (ear of wheat pattern) that is also used in the New York flagship store, and wall decorations featuring magnolia flowers, which appear frequently in the brand's archive sketches.
The store, with a total floor area of approximately 200 tsubo (approx. 200 square meters), has an area for bridal jewelry in addition to areas focusing on fine jewelry and fashion jewelry. This is a dedicated space decorated with bridal-themed artwork and panels so that customers can take their time choosing engagement rings and wedding rings. A private room has also been created at the back of the store for customers purchasing more expensive items.
