Last summer, we created a peace uniform with female students from Hiroshima Bunkyo University High School and released it nationwide to spread a message of peace. Now, with the decision to hold a youth peace match in the summer of 2021, we are releasing Hiroshima Bunkyo High School's peace uniform, number 86, representing the date of the atomic bombing, exclusively on Hummel's official online store. All proceeds will be used for the peace match.

■Connecting the Message of Peace
The peace uniform is worn as the third uniform of the Hiroshima Bunkyo High School soccer team. It is a tool for the soccer team to convey peace through their opponents. This time, we have decided to release a peace uniform with number 86, representing August 6th, the day Hiroshima was bombed.

With the students involved in making these peace uniforms now graduating, Hummel wanted to spread their message more widely. In addition, the Peace Match for youth teams in Hiroshima and Nagasaki prefectures, which was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has been decided to be held in the summer of 2021. We believe that by selling Hiroshima Bunkyo High School's peace uniforms and using all proceeds for the Peace Match, we can continue to pass on the message of peace.

Usually, the dove representing peace holds an olive in its beak. This is a historic design that originates from the Old Testament, but Hiroshima Bunkyo's peace uniform has a lily of the valley in its beak. The students said, "The lily of the valley that the dove, a symbol of peace, is holding in its beak is our school's flower, and in its flower language, it means 'happiness will return.' We included the lily of the valley as a symbol of our hope that happiness will return after the war." Hummel will continue this project to spread the message of peace through sports.

■About Hummel
The Danish sports brand "hummel" was founded in 1923, developing the world's first studded cleats. At a time when soccer was played with leather shoes, adding studs to flat soles dramatically improved grip, enabling plays that had never been possible before. The story of the bumblebee (hummel in German), which was theoretically unable to fly due to its weight, but which, through repeated efforts, was finally able to fly, was used as the brand name and logo. After 90 years of history, the brand continues to develop its own unique brand story and take on new challenges with the mission of "Change the World Through Sport."
