Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. will release the limited edition "X47FRGMT" model, based on the flagship "X47 EXPRESS CRUISER" and produced by "fragment design" led by Hiroshi Fujiwara.
X47FRGMT, a collaboration between Yanmar and fragment design
The base model, the "X47 EXPRESS CRUISER," was designed by world-renowned industrial designer and Yanmar Holdings Director Ken Okuyama. Featuring a natural-light living space, two suite cabins, a lounge, and a kitchen, this unique hull combines the sharpness of a powerboat with the elegance of a cruiser. It was produced using the advanced FRP manufacturing technology of Italy's Azimut.
The X47FRGMT, the largest project undertaken by fragment design, faced numerous constraints, including space efficiency, weight, and safety, as a cruiser capable of 40 knots on the ocean. However, the project team, consisting of Yanmar and fragment design, thoroughly discussed the various options and paid close attention to every detail, right down to the selection of materials, to create a unique and captivating space.
The cruiser's lounge, packed with cutting-edge technology, is covered in vintage carpeting and features an unconventional bench seating extending from the outside deck to the cabin. The X47FRGMT's relaxing space, reminiscent of a home party, offers a new style of marine life.
