Wako Ginza has revamped its uniforms. Designed by world-renowned Japanese designer Yasutoshi Esumi.

Mar 31, 2021
Wako Co., Ltd. will be introducing new uniforms starting April 1, 2021. Wako regularly updates its uniforms, and this time the designs were created by Yasutoshi Esumi, a cutting-edge designer active around the world and the creator of the fashion brand "EZUMi." Members of the "Uniform Project," made up of Wako employees, exchanged ideas and requests, resulting in a special design.

We will welcome you in our new uniforms and do our best to ensure that every moment of your stay is enriched and fulfilling.

Esumi's encounter with Wako dates back to 2015. In an effort to expand the world of Wako, she has released a number of dresses exclusive to Wako, and has gained popularity for her highly designed items that are a little different from simple designs.

Comment from Esumi: The image of Wako is elegant, authentic, prestigious and high-quality. Its beautiful architecture and clock tower in the elegant district of Ginza symbolize the image of Wako.

When incorporating the elegant and traditional image of Wako into the design, the main building, which was built in the Neo-Renaissance style*, served as inspiration. 」 />
*Neo-Renaissance style = A style that combines new architectural methods with traditional Renaissance techniques that began in the 19th century.
The jacket has a no-collar design to ensure it looks simple and elegant, while fulfilling a request from Wako employees to "look elegant at all times." The collar details and button placement give it a contemporary feel. The cord piping is curved within the straight silhouette to express the beautiful curves that can also be seen in architecture. In terms of functionality, a stretchy material was used to prioritize ease of movement, as requested by employees, and the pockets are large, and a décolleté line that looks beautiful even when bowing has been carefully considered. The uniforms are made with Esumi's design, which blends tradition with newness, and are imbued with the thoughts of Wako's employees.
