The exhibition "Halation of Color / Halation of Space" by artist Lee Ufan is being held from November 5th to December 5th at SCAI THE BATHHOUSE, a contemporary art gallery in Taito Ward, Tokyo. Lee Ufan is a Korean artist who immigrated to Japan in 1956 and became a central figure in the Mono-ha movement from the late 1960s. The Lee Ufan Museum opened in Naoshima, Kagawa Prefecture, in 2010. He has also held solo exhibitions at the Guggenheim Museum in New York in 2011 and the Palace of Versailles in 2014. This exhibition features a reproduction of "Landscape," a series of paintings that were lost after their original release in 1968. This precious work, created before Lee Ufan's artistic style was established, shares many elements with his later works. This is an opportunity to experience this series of early works, which has been mentioned in recently published catalogs and in the texts of solo exhibitions at the Lee Ufan Museum, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Palace of Versailles, and is considered to be of great importance.
