Artist and picture book author Miroko Machiko is holding her first collaboration with an interior space, "The Sun's Root," at the Arflex Shop Tokyo from October 22nd to November 3rd. Miroko Machiko won the 18th Japan Picture Book Award Grand Prize for her debut picture book, "The Day the Wolf Flies," published in 2012. She has since won awards for her unique observational skills and color sense, and last year she was responsible for the visuals for Isetan Shinjuku's Christmas event. She has also held numerous solo exhibitions, including the "Let's Dance! Earthworms" exhibition at the Tagawa City Museum of Art in Fukuoka Prefecture. "The Sun's Root," Miroko Machiko's first collaboration with an interior space, features a selection of her previous works, both large and small, as well as painted furniture pieces created specifically for the event, themed around the sun. Using Arflex's newest personal sofas, "GIULIO" and "MONICA," she paints animals and flowers using her unique color palette. Additionally, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on the 27th, there will be a live painting session accompanied by music. Titled "Goodnight, Sun," the painting depicts the setting sun and the arrival of night, accompanied by music.

In addition, original artwork from Miroko Machiko's latest book, "Tsuchitachi," featuring illustrations, will be on display, and a party will be held on October 30th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, featuring food by Yama Foods' Satoko Kohiyama.
