The fashion festival "Kawaii Hate Night," sponsored by Nozomi Ishiguro, took place on October 27th at the long-established Ginza club CLUB DIANA. One of the highlights of the festival was the show featuring the 15SS collection by tambourine, a collaboration with the all-girl band SCANDAL. The opening act featured tambourine-clad members. The band wears the brand both on tour and in their personal lives. Their powerful opening rendition of Momoe Yamaguchi's "Rock 'n' Roll Widow" thrilled the audience. The most eye-catching element of the collection was the street-graffiti print, featuring vibrant shades of pink, yellow, orange, and light blue. This print, a defining feature of the collection, appeared throughout, transforming into a sweatshirt styled with a checked blouson, a monochrome hoodie, and a shirt paired with a collarless jacket.
The models, who represented the antithesis of "kawaii," wore masculine and powerful looks such as bandana caps, oversized hooded jackets and shorts, and chunky gold and silver accessories, but the brand's signature playfulness was also subtly added in the round collars of the shirts and leopard print peeking out from under the neck.
At the end of the show, the members of Scandal appeared on the runway again, and the Kawaii Hate Night continued with the second act, "NOZOMI ISHIGURO Haute Couture."
