The Only the Brave (OTB) Group officially announced that John Galliano has been appointed Creative Director of Maison Martin Margiela. Renzo Rosso, president of the Only the Brave (OTB) Group, said, "We are ready to welcome a new charismatic figure to Maison Martin Margiela. John Galliano is a supreme and unquestionable talent. This unique and exceptional couturier of the house has constantly challenged and innovated global fashion. I am delighted that he has returned to this world to create the 'fashion dream' that only he can create. I hope he will find this his new home." Hikaru Katano, designer of SHARE SPIRIT and a close friend of Galliano, said, "John has a different sensibility. He sees things differently. He is able to create infinite fantasies using a single material. I think he is on the same level as artists like Picasso or Dali."

Galliano became creative director of Dior in 1996. Since then, he has demonstrated his exceptional creativity and presented sensational collections, including Egyptian looks, gyaru looks, and French revolutionary styles. However, in February 2011, he was reported to have made racist remarks and was fired from Dior. His future actions have always been the focus of attention. Anticipation is building for his first collection at Maison Martin Margiela.

In addition to Maison Martin Margiela, OTB also owns Diesel, Marni, and Viktor & Rolf. OTB's total sales in 2013 amounted to 1.6 billion euros.
