Komatsu Seiren Co., Ltd., a developer and manufacturer of cutting-edge fabrics for a variety of apparel, including fashion and sportswear, launched its new material "TOPILE 2" in February of this year.
"TOPILE 2" is a completely new three-dimensional material created by combining the processing technology of "TOSPO-N2," a decorative material with a unique textured feel that the company announced in May 2009, with the 3D dyeing technology of "TOPILE." The material features a natural texture, three-dimensionality, and surface texture achieved through chemicals that utilize the company's long-cultivated synthetic fiber technology and a proprietary "special 3D molding machine."
The material's shrinkage balance can be freely controlled, allowing for the creation of unprecedented, rich expressions (shapes) with polyester and nylon materials. It also boasts excellent wash durability, maintaining its texture and shape even after approximately 50 home washes. In addition, Topire 2 can be combined with water-repellent and coated materials, and can also be used as a bleached fabric for garment dyeing, greatly expanding the variety of final products.
Based in Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture, Komatsu Seiren is a cutting-edge fabric manufacturer that has actively developed and sold unique products. In addition to its signature product, "Vintage Seni" (2002), which has a natural, sun-dried look, "Techno Vintage BJ" (2006), which ensures excellent shape retention without using minerals, and "Techno Vintage BB" (2007), which expresses a "muscular texture," the materials it has released to date have been adopted by numerous top fashion houses and have earned high praise both domestically and internationally.
"Topire 2" will begin sales in Europe in February of this year, with sales planned to expand gradually. The company aims to achieve sales of 100 million yen (150,000 meters) in the first year and 350 million yen (600,000 meters) three years later.
