On March 19th, the et momonakia 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection show was held at Shibuya Hikarie. Designers Naoto Joga and Hiroto Tamaki. The theme of the show was "Zettai Zetsumei," the title of a 1978 song by Momoe Yamaguchi. The theme was a battle of women, inspired by the lyrics, which describe a mistress confronting her legal wife.
The first half of the show featured a masculine checkered series. Accents included gold lapels on coats and sculpted front tucks on dresses. Later, embroidered black plastic ribbons, enlarged leopard prints, color-blocked coats, and gorgeous fur coats were introduced. While incorporating feminine motifs, many designs incorporated details from tailored jackets to create a masculine impression. Each model's hair and makeup were individually tailored.
The show climaxed with a sudden game of musical chairs, with the models surrounding a chair placed in the center. It was a completely serious competition with no fakery whatsoever. The winner who managed to push aside her rivals and sit down was presented with a gorgeous chinchilla coat by a male model. The winning model won four times, including rehearsals. Other models reportedly commented, "We don't know where this is coming from." It was a show where a truly heated battle of the ladies unfolded, with jealousy, envy and badmouthing galore aplenty.
