[Tokyo Collection 2013 Spring/Summer] "Emomonakia" expresses the boundary between playfulness and elegance, using 80s idols as icons

Dec 7, 2012

Emo Monakia, the design duo consisting of Naoto Joga and Hiroto Tamaki, presented their 2013 Spring/Summer collection in a show format for the first time at the Mercedes-Benz Connection in Roppongi. The theme was "play back." The first look featured four feminine vermilion dresses with elegant draping, accompanied by the background music of Akina Nakamori. Elegant pieces were presented throughout the show, including ensembles, dresses, and satin dresses with lavish wine-red ruffles. Elaborate details were also featured, including dresses sewn with circular and square cut fabric, ensembles, and dresses combining leopard print and draping. For the finale, performers in floral dresses danced on a stage with a rotating mirror ball. Emo Monakia was selected as a Mercedes-Benz Presents Designer. After the show, Kintaro Ueno, Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Japan, delivered a congratulatory speech.
