Daikanyama T-Site Bookstore has begun selling the Hasselblad "H4D-40 Ferrari Edition," a collaboration between Hasselblad and Ferrari.
Hasselblad is a long-established Swedish camera manufacturer known for developing the world's first interchangeable-lens 6x6 format SLR camera.
This camera is a collaboration model between Hasselblad and Ferrari, released in 2011. Based on the high-end digital SLR "H4D-40," it features the Ferrari "rosso fuoco" livery and Ferrari's iconic prancing horse emblem on the side. Due to its beauty, it was nominated for the 2013 German Design Award in the Lifestyle category.
This limited-edition model, made in 499 units, comes with an HC80mm lens and is housed in a display box with a carbon fiber glass top. With 40 megapixels (40 million), it's more than four times the resolution of a regular digital camera, and even now, more than a year after its release, it boasts impressive specs.
Daikanyama T-Site has one demo unit on display on the sales floor, and is the only bookstore in Japan that has also started selling it online. The price is 2,856,000 yen. However, due to licensing issues, production is scheduled to end in July 2013.
