Tokyo-based bilingual fashion magazine Union opens pop-up store at Isetan

Mar 21, 2013

The third issue of "Union," an independent bilingual fashion magazine based in Tokyo and edited by stylists Momo Chiharu and Hiroyuki Kubo, will be released on March 23rd.

Pursuing timeless beauty and a universal worldview, the magazine's inaugural issue, published last March, attracted attention for its visuals, featuring Takashi Homma, Hiromix x Kara Uchida, Masami Nagasawa, Kelly Smith, Ella Purnell, and others.

The third issue welcomes a number of new contributors, with a particular focus on Paris-based Norwegian photographer Ola Rindal. Other contributors include Anders Edstrom, photographer Chikashi Suzuki, and author Mieko Kawakami. The issue is packed with content, including the culmination of a trilogy featuring Takashi Homma and Kiko Mizuhara. To commemorate the release, the Union Pop-up Store will be open at Isetan Shinjuku from March 27th to April 2nd. The store will feature limited edition items themed around red, created in collaboration with brands such as Dress by Flicka and Petit Robe Noir, as well as a photo exhibition curated by Hiroyuki Kubo featuring photographers from Japan and abroad who are involved with Union. Additionally, on March 30th and 31st, a personal styling event will be held by editor-in-chief Chiharu Momo, who is also active as a stylist. A special party in collaboration with Union and Re-Style will also be held on March 30th. Designers of brands featured in Re-Style are scheduled to attend along with the two editors-in-chief.
