On March 19th, WHIZ LIMITED held their 13-14 Autumn/Winter collection show at Shibuya Hikarie. The designer was Shimono Hiroaki.
Under the theme "Lust for Life," which conveys the meaning of "living your life to the fullest," the brand showcased a style that mixed British youth culture with outdoor elements. The first look featured a polka-dot blouson and tight pants with tartan check on the inside of the placket. They were paired with a knit sweater featuring red and green stripes underneath. This color scheme was also used on the inside of the jacket's vents and the coloring of the sweater.
The brand's signature style was represented by a variety of items, including Nordic-patterned sweaters and shorts, shirts with sewn-on suspenders, and coats with synthetic hoods, with patterns such as black and white checkerboards and Union Jack tartan check added here and there. The most eye-catching items were the down items, which were proposed as chest-length vests and shorts with attached skirts.
The brand has also collaborated with The North Face to create boots. The pants are rolled up and styled like Skins with Dr. Martens. "I think about the collection based on my personal fad at the time, but this time I started with a mod coat and developed into a mod skins style. I thought it would be interesting to add a sporty touch to that. The theme is the sense of speediness of youth culture, and I superimpose myself onto the impression of living in the moment," says Shimono.
