On March 18th, the "motonari ono" AW13-14 collection was unveiled at Shibuya Hikarie. Designer Makoto Onohara's collection featured classic bohemian elements, inspired by the vintage clothing-loving girls of London's Portobello Market. The first half of the show featured real clothes centered around floral tapestry. The collection suggested pairing it with classic suiting and denim, pairing it with casual items like blouses. Taking advantage of the tension of the tapestry, the collection included a peg-top skirt with room around the waist and tapered hem, and a dress with a faux fur drape that resembled a jacket. The second half of the show shifted to the brand's signature dressy and feminine style. Dresses and skirts in lace, sheer materials, velvet, and satin were featured. Tucks were added here and there to add movement to the designs. Details like black lace peeking out from ruffles at the hem and draping secured with ribbons added a layered effect.
In order to create a look that was close to everyday life but not too real, the models wore makeup reminiscent of dreamy girls and had their hair tied up like papillons. In the hall where the models could be seen up close like in a floor show, tents reminiscent of a market were suspended from the ceiling.
