
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the opening of ARK Hills in Akasaka, Minato Ward, Tokyo, various events will be held related to the area's symbolic cherry blossoms.
ARK Hills, established as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in the city center, is characterized by the cherry blossom-lined streets surrounding the site on three sides, lined with approximately 150 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees. Including Izumi Street in front of Izumi Garden and surrounding facilities, the total number of cherry trees in bloom is approximately 220. This 1-kilometer-long cherry blossom-lined street can also be viewed from the bridge connecting the South Tower to ARK Hills. From late March to mid-April, the area will be illuminated from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
The "Sakura Festival 2016" will be held from April 1st to 3rd. This will feature gourmet food stalls from ARK Hills' restaurants, workshops open to children, live performances, and more. A garden party area for cherry blossom viewing will be set up at ARK Karajan Square. The Garden Table & Chair Area will feature a total of 12 gourmet food stalls from ARK Hills restaurants. The lineup includes chicken tacos (¥300 including tax) from Taco Rico, making its first appearance, as well as Bubby's New York ARK Hills' smoked beef pastrami burger (¥800 including tax), chicken curry (¥700 including tax) from ARK Hills Cafe, and pepperoni pizza (¥400 for one slice, ¥1,000 for three slices including tax) from Wolfgang Puck Pizza Bar. The Neighbor Foot booth will also host workshops and events. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on April 2nd, there will be a workshop called "Transform into a Musician!" where participants can create musician costumes complete with black vests and bow tie-style badges. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on April 3rd, there will be a workshop called "Make a Pop-Up Picture Book." Additionally, the MIX Bar & Lounge at the NA InterContinental will offer seasonal champagne, wine, and snacks. On April 2nd, from 11am to 5pm, Suntory Hall will be open to the public free of charge for one day, and an "Open House - Let's Have Fun at Suntory Hall!" event will be held, featuring orchestral and opera concerts.
