Jun Takahashi's UNDERCOVER held their 2016-17 Autumn/Winter women's show in the banquet room of the Westin Paris. The collection title, "Perfect Day," is a reference to a song by artist Lou Reed. A dubbed version of "Perfect Day" by Hiroshi Fujiwara was played throughout the venue. The collection, characteristic of UNDERCOVER, evoked a fairytale-like, mysterious story. The models featured ranged in age, including models from the '90s and older models. A shirt featuring a surreal print of a collage of female portraits was coordinated with pants made of mohair from German stuffed animal manufacturer Steiff. This mohair was also used on shoes and bags, giving the collection a unique luster and volume. Authentic pieces, such as coats and jackets in men's fabrics like pinstripe, glen plaid, and herringbone, and cardigans made from a mix of knit and mohair, were deconstructed and reconstructed, creating a surreal look that was completely different from existing pieces. As Misora Hibari's "Over the Rainbow" played, three ball gowns were unveiled, including a drop-shoulder dress with a gold bustier and a dress adorned with gold feathers, bringing the show to a moving finale.
