To celebrate its grand opening on June 7, the WEEKEND MaxMara Ginza store (1st and 2nd floors, Daiichi Yayoi Building, 4-2-2 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will be holding a collaboration event with Sony Square (5-3-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) from June 9 to 15.
At Sony Square, if you draw one of five colored paper butterflies dancing in a lottery machine, you will receive a candy of the same color. At the WEEKEND MaxMara Ginza store, located a two-minute walk away, you can tell the staff the color of the candy and your zodiac sign to receive a "Message from the Stars" written specifically for this project by popular fortune-telling writer Yukari Ishii. Twenty customers who purchase from the Ginza store will be randomly selected to receive a personalized message autographed by Ishii by mail at a later date. An original brand pouch will also be given away.
Two types of bags commemorating the grand opening will also be released. The lineup includes an orange cowhide clutch (27,000 yen) and pouch (29,000 yen).
Weekend Max Mara was launched in 1984 as the casual line of the Italian brand Max Mara. In Japan, the brand operates 12 directly managed stores, including in department stores, and the Ginza store had a soft opening in December 2013. The grand opening will be held on the 7th with the completion of the facade, making this the fourth street-level store worldwide, following those in Bologna, Italy; Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris; and Notting Hill, London.
