Maison Martin Margiela's Fall/Winter 2013-14 collection was unveiled at Paris Men's Fashion Week. The first theme was "A Study in Movement." It was the same theme as the Spring/Summer 2013 women's collection, but this time for men. Jackets and coats, with buttons placed on the side, create asymmetrical silhouettes, evoking the gesture of closing the front of an outer garment to cover the body in cold weather. The multiple folds and layered collars are inspired by the gesture of turning up the collar to ward off the wind. A trompe-l'oeil jumpsuit, disguised as a classic double-breasted two-piece suit, features a curved front with a sloping shoulder line. The S-shaped seams also create graphic lines that are conscious of the human body's structure.

A luxurious duffle coat made from a patchwork of four types of fur - beaver, rabbit, nutria, and mouton - was also introduced.

Another keyword is "AN EXAGGERATED SILHOUETTE." Extra-wide "Aikido" pants are paired with classic turtleneck knitwear and leather biker jackets. Following this is a shawl-collar patchwork knitwear with knit hats randomly spliced together, and finally a "Mad Max"-themed warrior style. Leather jackets, leather ponchos, and lace-up leather pants are patchworked with vintage bomber jackets and various types of fur, creating dynamic silhouettes.
