H&M KYOTO, Japan's largest and most diverse store, opened on November 29th. The address is 354 Shimoosakacho, Kawaramachi-dori Shijoagaru 2-chome, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City. The pine tree, a symbol of vitality and Japan, will be featured on shopping bags and novelties. A giant H&M shopping bag will also be installed at Nijo Castle, a former imperial villa and World Heritage Site. The design for the shopping bag was created exclusively for H&M KYOTO by Japanese art designer Shun Kawakami. The design will be featured on shoppers and a clutch bag as a special opening gift. The first 1,000 customers will receive an original H&M KYOTO clutch bag. Additionally, a Kyoto-exclusive holiday collection featuring trendy black and red dresses will be available. This marks H&M KYOTO's first store in Kyoto. Located in the Shijo Kawaramachi area, Kyoto's most competitive fashion district, close to Kawaramachi Station on the Hankyu Kyoto Line, the store boasts one of the largest sales floor areas in Japan at approximately 3,400 square meters, with seven floors, the most in the country. This type of collaboration with local characteristics is a first for Hennes & Mauritz Japan, and it appears they are also aiming to attract tourists by incorporating the "Japanese taste" that is unique to Kyoto.
