Mina Perhonen's "Monkicho" is released. Talk event with Akira Minagawa, photographer, and book designer

Nov 14, 2014

On November 17th, a talk event featuring minä perhonen designer Akira Minagawa, photographer Yoshihiko Ueda, and book designer Atsumi Kikuchi will be held at the IMA CONCEPT STORE.

The event commemorates the release of the latest issue of "Monkicho," an image book released twice a year that expresses the worldview of minä perhonen's collections. Ueda and Kikuchi each worked on the book's photography and cover design.

The theme of "Monkicho" for the 14-15 Autumn/Winter collection is "crystal," just like the collection itself. The collection was created by superimposing the future vision of minä perhonen onto "crystals," which take shape over the course of an eternity. With his camera in hand, Ueda captures a variety of shining crystals that connect time, including light, minerals, and flowers shrouded in a veil of frost.

The talk event will also provide an opportunity to learn about each of the three artists' interpretations and thoughts on "crystals."
The fee is 1,389 yen. IMA magazine subscribers can participate for 1,111 yen.
