Isetan Haneda Store (Men's) Terminal 2, offering a lounge-like lifestyle focused on relieving tension and relaxing travel, opened on June 13th in the departure gate lounge on the second floor of Haneda Airport's Domestic Terminal 2. While the new store is slightly smaller than the Isetan Haneda Store currently located in Domestic Terminal 1, the wide openings and high ceilings create a spacious, open feel. The fixtures and flooring are the same as those of the first store, and the spacious entrance zone has been redesigned as a promotional space, displaying items exclusive to the Haneda Store prior to its opening, including preserved flower boxes by Nicolai Bergmann, retaW fragrance car tags, and airplane-shaped cufflinks. The store is divided into four sections, with the cafe attached to the lounge located at the front to accommodate takeout orders. The store sells carefully selected coffee sets handpicked by Yoshiaki Kawashima, known as the "coffee hunter." The "Gift" zone in the center of the store features a collection of luxury goods and colorful flower gifts, perfect for gifts. The apparel zone, which was expanded in response to customer requests from the first store, is divided into "Business" and "Vacation" sections and offers a wide selection of jackets, shirts, ties, and other items essential for business style, as well as casual wear perfect for resort trips, and sundries like sunglasses and hats. The popular shoe shine bar (shoe care) corner has also been installed, creating a store layout that truly embodies the high-end feel of Isetan Men's. The opening ceremony, held on the same day, was attended by Isao Takagi, president and CEO of Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd., and Hiroshi Onishi, president of Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Co., Ltd. "Previously, there was a high demand for convenience stores within the restricted area, such as those you could quickly drop into before boarding. However, with the expedited check-in process, passengers have been spending longer. We wanted to create a more relaxing and comfortable experience for our customers, so we asked for the cooperation of Isetan President Onishi and opened this store. Haneda Airport will likely become an important hub for Japan in the run-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, so we are extremely pleased to have been able to create a space that will satisfy all our customers," said Takashiro. President Onishi added, "We are extremely grateful to have been able to open a store at a time when Haneda Airport is at a turning point. When the first store opened, we encountered many unexpected challenges, such as a high average customer spend despite the low number of customers, and the need for non-business travelers. This time, we will continue to respond to customer needs and make appropriate adjustments. While offering travel items targeted at business travelers, we also offer a focus on fashion, just like the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Store."
Both men also mentioned that airport management is being reviewed amid changes in the environment, and both said they would like to expand their store presence at Haneda Airport's international terminals and regional airports if the opportunity arises.
On July 18, the "Isetan Haneda Store (Women's) Terminal 1" will open in the departure gate lounge on the second floor of the airport's Terminal 1 passenger terminal.
