Forward Madison FC plays in USL League 1, the equivalent of the third tier of soccer in the United States. Starting December 1st, they will be releasing two limited-edition uniforms in Japan: a street-inspired third uniform based on original artwork and a rainbow uniform in support of LGBTQ+ issues.

■Uniforms that Express American Culture
This spring, we introduced Forward Madison FC's uniforms and received numerous inquiries. As a result, we have partnered with Hummel USA and Forward Madison FC to produce uniforms exclusively for Japan. After a long wait, the limited-edition uniforms will be available starting December 1st.

Forward Madison FC (FMFC) is a professional soccer club based in Madison, Wisconsin, in the Midwestern United States, which was founded in 2018 with a plastic flamingo, the city's bird, as its emblem. Its 2019 third uniform has attracted attention overseas, and the club has become known to some soccer fans.

The 2020 third uniform, which was also introduced in Japan, features three shades of blue and two shades of pink, expressed in shades of the blue and pink of the team emblem, which spread like ripples across the entire shirt, creating a bubbly design. While synchronized, the uniform leaves an uneasy, contradictory impression.
■Supporting gender diversity with a uniform
In addition to the third uniform, a rainbow uniform will also be released in Japan to support Forward Madison FC, which works with its supporters to create an inclusive atmosphere, and to support gender diversity. Based on Forward Madison FC's home uniform, the scallop-shaped wave pattern on both shoulders is in rainbow colours. The six colors symbolizing LGBTQ+ - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple - are designed across the chest in a sash.

The 3rd uniform will be sold exclusively on the Hummel official online store, as well as through SWS (https://www.sports-ws.com/) and Kemari87 KISHISPO (https://www.kishispo.net/). The rainbow uniform will be sold exclusively on the Hummel official online store, and will begin selling sequentially from December 1st.

■ About Hummel
Danish sports brand hummel was founded in 1923 and was the first to develop studded cleats. Back when soccer was played with leather shoes, studs were added to the flat soles, dramatically improving grip and enabling plays that were previously impossible. So, the brand name and logo were inspired by the story of a bumblebee (hummel in German), which is theoretically unable to fly due to its weight, but which eventually learned to fly through repeated efforts. After 90 years of history, the brand continues to develop its own unique brand story and take on new challenges with its mission of "Change the World Through Sport."
