With the addition of Rhizomatiks, the 2015 Roppongi Art Night will be a night of media art

Nov 21, 2014

On April 25th and 26th, 2015, the Roppongi Art Night 2015 will be a one-night-only art festival. This event will feature art exhibits at various venues around the city, including Roppongi Hills, Tokyo Midtown, and the Suntory Museum of Art. A wide variety of works, including installations, music, video, and performances, will be on display, including some interactive art pieces. Contemporary artist Katsuhiko Hibino will continue to serve as artistic director, as he did last year. Furthermore, Seiichi Saito of Rhizomatiks will be invited as media art director, exploring a new form of art night. Also, for the first time, the event will host an "Open Call Project," inviting submissions from the public. Outstanding submissions will advance to the second round of judging, where the organizers will personally give a presentation in front of a judging panel. This process will be open to the public, and similar pre-programming will be conducted in the lead-up to the event.
