Tokyo City View in Roppongi Hills will host a Christmas event, "Christmas in the Sky 2014 Featuring the World of Tim Burton," on December 2nd. The event runs until the 25th.
This event focuses on the "World of Tim Burton" exhibition currently being held at the Mori Arts Center Gallery. The venue will feature various events in collaboration with film director Tim Burton.
During the event, Tokyo City View will feature a Christmas tree, "Guru Guru Tree by THE WORLD OF TIM BURTON," designed by Tim Burton himself. Its branches are decorated with motifs of the "Guru Guru" character, which appears in numerous of his films, including "Endangered." In addition, the tree will be illuminated in vibrant red, blue, and white lights every five minutes, bringing to life the world of "Untitled (Reindeer in the Snow)." Along with the night view visible outside the window and background music, it will create a fantastical Christmas atmosphere. Additionally, Mado Lounge Spice, a café attached to Tokyo City View, will also be introducing a menu featuring a "Guru Guru" motif. The menu features unique dishes that will have you dizzy even before you eat them, such as the "Guru Guru Black Curry" (1,180 yen), a squid ink curry-based dish with rice cooked with paprika and chili powder, and the "Guru Dog" (1,180 yen), a spiral sausage topped with chili con carne. Also, J-WAVE's "J-WAVE CHRISTMAS LIVE @ TOKYO CITY VIEW" will be held at Mado Lounge again this year. This year's event will once again feature a stellar lineup of guests, including Sukima Switch on the 2nd and Thelma Aoyama on the 9th, and various events with "surprises" as their motto. Meanwhile, the outdoor observation deck, Sky Deck, will be open until 10 p.m., with love songs selected by J-WAVE playing in the background. Couples will be provided with a "Love Blanket," allowing them to forget the cold and spend a romantic night wrapped up in it. A "Geminid Meteor Shower Observation Event" is scheduled for the 14th, followed by a "Christmas Special 'Love Love' Stargazing Event" on the 22nd, where guests can enjoy stargazing under the guidance of an expert. Also, from December 2nd to 11th, a discount coupon for "Early Bird 10 Days for Pairs" is available. Couples can enjoy a 500 yen discount per person. Additionally, "Restaurant Mado Lounge" and "SUNSET CAFE" on the 52nd floor of Mori Tower will also be offering Christmas-only menus. Mado Lounge will also be hosting a limited-time bar, "Veuve Clicquot Yellow Bar," by Veuve Clicquot champagne, offering original food carefully selected to pair with champagne.
