Enjoy a panoramic view of Yokohama's nightscape! "Bayside Beer Garden" opens again this year. Asian, American, and European street food available

May 18, 2016

Yokohama Bay Quarter, a shopping mall at the east exit of Yokohama Station, will be hosting its annual summer outdoor beer garden event, Bay Side Beer Garden, from May 27th to September 25th.

This year's theme for the fifth annual Bay Side Beer Garden is "World Gourmet Festival - A Beer Garden of Global Street Food." Soul food from around the world will be gathered in a venue modeled after the food trucks of Portland, USA, with "street food" as the keyword.

The event will be divided into four seasons, with street food representing three regions - Asia, America, and Europe - being offered with a rotating menu for each season. The first season, from May 27th to July 15th, will feature Taiwanese chicken platter from Shilin Night Market, shrimp spring rolls, Thai fish cakes, choregi salad, and shrimp crackers from Asia; the Cubano sandwich a la plancha, jerk chicken, and Philly's cheese steak from America; and Club Lacus - Marinated smoked salmon, steamed mussels in white wine, pescatore with tomato cream, and chicken liver pate with baguette from Europe. The second season, from July 16th to August 4th, will feature boiled dumplings with Sichuan mala sauce, Thai seafood marinade, two types of namul (bean sprouts and komatsuna), and Asian sausage from Asia; chili beans and potatoes, buffalo wings, calamari fries, and corn dogs from America; and Italian jumbo cod ham, rump steak, and sauerkraut from Europe. The third season, from August 5th to 21st, will feature the same items from the second season in Asia and the US, while the European menu will include Brazilian Potato & Pimenta, Churrasco Picanha, and Deep-fried Frango.
The fourth season, from August 22nd to September 25th, will feature Korean chijimi, oyster omelette, chive bun, and spicy pad thai from Asia, tostada with Mexican salsa, fresh guacamole and tortilla, and broccoli and California Waldorf honey nut salad from the US, and chetbula (Scandinavian-style meatballs), fish and chips, carrot rapée, and alioli potatoes from the EU.
Drinks include draft beer as well as a variety of flavored highballs called "craft highballs." In addition, everyone will receive a bottle of Heineken Extra Cold as a welcome beer, and on the three full moon days during the event (June 20th, July 20th, and August 18th), there will be a "Full Moon Party" where you can enjoy all-you-can-drink draft beer of the popular American craft beer "BLUE MOON." There will also be a total of 27 show events on Wednesdays and Saturdays during the event, where you can experience dance and music from around the world, including hula, Tahitian, and samba. Business hours are from 5pm to 11pm on weekdays and from 4pm to 11pm on weekends and holidays, with last orders at 10pm on both days. The price is 4,300 yen, including tax.
