Levi's has released the "LVC 1976 501 Mirror Jean" (37,000 yen), a limited edition of 501 pairs worldwide, featuring the world's first jeans, the "501," with all of its construction and details reversed.
Levi's is known for its traditional use of right-hand twill fabric. The newly announced "LVC 1976 501 Mirror Jean" was inspired by Cone Mills' left-hand twill deadstock fabric from the 1970s. Every detail of this model, including the placement of the patch, coin pocket, red tab, button fly flap, button fly and rivet engraving, patch print, flasher, and guarantee ticket, has been reversed. As its name suggests, when viewed in a mirror, the 1976 "501" is reflected exactly as it was.
The products are available at five stores only: Levi's Store Harajuku, Levi's Store Shinjuku, Levi's Store Shibuya, Levi's Store Kobe, and Levi's Store Hankyu Men's Osaka. In addition, they are also available on the Levi's online store. Sales will end when stock runs out.
