Chloé, the brand's final collection under creative director Clare Waight Keller, held its Fall/Winter 2017-18 show at the Grand Palais in Paris on March 2nd. While maintaining the signature Chloé woman, this season's collection drew inspiration from psychedelic elements of the 1960s and grunge of the 1990s, particularly the casual attire of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. It also referenced various elements from pre-World War II Comme des Garçons and the clothing worn by female factory workers in the 1940s. While the collection featured vintage details like psychedelic paisley patterns and 1960s-inspired round collars, the shoulder silhouettes and volume were modernized to create a fresh feel. Some coats and blousons had large shoulder pads, while others were oversized without, while drop shoulders were the norm for knitwear and sweatshirts. Chloé's signature items, such as cutout lace mini dresses and masculine-feminine work shirts, were also present. The "Galaxy Face" motif, depicting a woman's profile, appeared on a knit sweatshirt in the middle of the collection and on a printed dress in the final look. This motif represented the connection between people, and was a message from Chloé Waight Keller that "even if we part ways, we can always meet again somewhere."
